About Us

Linda’s Ballet Workshop, Inc. (LBW) was born in the basement of Miss Linda’s townhouse in Lake Ridge, Virginia in September of 1982. Our first recital featured an enrollment of nineteen ballet students and was held in the basement of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.

In 1986 the studio moved along with Miss Linda and her family to a single family home on Cotton Mill Drive. Enrollment continued to increase, although guarded due to the size limitation of the basement studio. The location at Cotton Mill Drive just couldn’t hold the students now totaling approximately 250, so in 1990, LBW added tap and jazz to our curriculum and moved to its first address on Dillingham Square. The exposure of a store-front along with our well established reputation caused enrollment to double the first season. The 1,000 sq. ft. studio seemed so big after the basement, but that soon became too small. In the spring of 1997, LBW took over the vacant space next door- slightly more than doubling its size.

Lyrical was added to the curriculum as well as yoga and an extensive adult program. In April of 2003, LBW moved once again, this time to its current location. Our enrollment has grown by leaps and bounds. Many of our past students now bring their children to classes. We have had the pleasure of watching so many young people grow from pre ballet through graduation. Our size has changed but our philosophy remains the same. We strive to bring a love of dance to our students that will last a lifetime. We believe it is important to develop the person as a whole, not just as a dancer. We encourage students to grow and improve in an environment that is positive, loving and nurturing.
